Accessibility statement

Telecom Agency wants everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they rely on.

Our standard

We build and review this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
  • Headings, landmarks, form labels and button names are written for screen readers.
  • Text and controls meet AA colour contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Pages reflow on small screens and when zoomed, without sideways scrolling.
  • Moving elements stop when your device asks for reduced motion, pause when you point at or tab into them, and can be switched off in the accessibility menu.
  • Form errors are described in words and announced, never shown by colour alone.
  • The recorded introduction only plays when you press its button.

Accessibility menu

The round button in the bottom-right corner of every page opens an accessibility menu. You can also open it with Alt + A, and close it with Esc. It offers profiles for seizure safety, low vision, ADHD, reading and cognitive needs, keyboard navigation, screen readers and older adults, along with controls for text size, spacing, fonts, contrast, colours, animations, a reading guide and a reading mask.

The menu is built into this site. It loads nothing from an outside service and does no tracking, and your choices are saved only in your own browser. It is an extra for people who want to adjust the display; it is not a substitute for the accessible design described above.

Known limitations

  • The recorded introduction on the home page does not yet have a written transcript.
  • Provider logos are supplied by those companies; each is labelled with the provider's name.
  • The address availability check relies on U.S. Census Bureau and FCC services, which we do not control. You can ask us to check an address for you instead, on the same page or by phone.
